22 And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.
23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightiermatters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

Tithe – verses justice, mercy and faith. Wow, in Christ’s mind the last 3 are weightier than the first. But He exalts holistic holiness. You need to obey them all.

41 But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.
42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.

Humans always struggle with justice as a principle.

Maybe because we don’t aim to mix it with love is why we struggle with the true meaning of justice. Now, if justice and love together are the commandments of God, imagine what kind of world we’d live in if people obeyed that.

Its actually impossible for humans to do both at the same time. We need God to meet that standard

My house. My rules. Thou shalt be merciful.

As long as your My son, you will do what you’re told. Thou art just

No wonder David said “the Laws are perfect. I delight to do them.”

Imagine that. Justice is a commandment
Mercy is non-negotiable
…and that God can command you to have faith. Read Joshua chapter one and see how many times God encourages Joshua. “Only be strong and very courageous!”

Good people…be faithful. You’ve been told.

So simply obey.

Shalom
